Privacy Policy

1. Scope and Core Principles

This policy applies to Langou Input Method for Android and Windows, including its account and AI reply-suggestion services. Ordinary typing, candidates, and local word-frequency learning work offline. An AI or network failure never blocks ordinary typing. AI suggestions are generated only when the relevant feature is enabled; tapping a suggestion writes it into the active input field and never sends it automatically.

2. Information We Process

We follow data-minimisation principles and process only what is necessary:

• When you use AI, redacted conversation text currently visible in a supported chat app, an optional draft, app type, and language;
• An anonymous device-session identifier, or your mobile number and SMS verification status when you register or sign in;
• App version, operating-system version, skin, and AI/saving/sync settings;
• Crash and performance information without chat text only if you opt in. Anonymous diagnostics are off by default.

We do not upload or store: screenshots, password-field content, payment or banking content, password-manager content, or system-security content. We also do not collect GPS location, contacts, photos, call logs, SMS message bodies, or browsing history for this feature.

3. Screenshots, Accessibility, and Local OCR

Android may use Accessibility to read currently visible chat text. When OCR is necessary, Android 11+ uses an Accessibility screenshot and Android 8–10 uses screen capture after your approval. Windows uses UI Automation first and falls back to local desktop capture only when necessary. Screenshots are never uploaded or written to disk; they exist only in device memory for local OCR and are released immediately after recognition. Collection is always blocked in passwords, payments, banking, password managers, and system-security contexts.

4. How We Use Information

• Generate up to three AI reply suggestions that you may choose to insert;
• Provide guest sessions, SMS sign-in, settings, and cross-device sync;
• Provide encrypted history when you enable saving;
• Prevent automated abuse through device/IP rate limits, concurrency limits, and a cost circuit breaker;
• Protect the service, diagnose faults, and meet legal obligations.

5. Storage, Retention, and Deletion

Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. When “Save encrypted AI history” is enabled, conversation text and generated suggestions are retained for 30 days by default and protected with application-level AES-256-GCM encryption. A daily task permanently deletes expired records. You may disable saving in Settings to prevent new AI requests from entering history, and you may delete all saved history immediately at any time. Mobile numbers are stored with application-level encryption, with a non-reversible digest used for lookup and abuse prevention.

SMS codes and access tokens are kept only for the short periods required for verification and session management. Service logs never contain verification codes, tokens, chat text, screenshots, or complete mobile numbers.

6. Service Providers

• Xiaomi MiMo AI API: receives the redacted text needed to generate suggestions, but not screenshots, mobile numbers, account tokens, or device identifiers;
• Alibaba Cloud SMS: receives your mobile number and approved template parameters only when you request a sign-in code.

We do not sell personal information or use chat content for advertising profiles.

7. Your Controls and Rights

• Disable AI: ordinary offline typing remains available;
• Disable saving: stop adding new cloud AI history;
• Review or delete: review saved history in the client, or immediately delete one or all entries;
• Revoke permissions: revoke Accessibility or screen-capture permissions in system settings;
• Account requests: contact us below to request access, correction, or deletion.

8. Children's Privacy

Langou is intended for users aged 14 and older. Children under 14 must not register or use the AI service. If we learn that data was collected from a child under 14, we will delete it as required by law.
